Chatwoot
Open-source customer support platform -- live chat, email, social and messaging channels in one shared inbox, as a self-hostable alternative to Intercom and Zendesk.
- Actively maintained
- Well documented
- Permissive license
Overview
Chatwoot gives support teams one inbox for conversations from a website live-chat widget, email, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, SMS and other channels. Agents get assignment, canned responses, private notes, labels and team routing, and businesses get a help-center knowledge base, CSAT surveys and reporting on response times.
It is a Ruby on Rails app with a Vue frontend and can be self-hosted with Docker or used as a managed cloud service. The core is MIT-licensed; code under the enterprise/ directory carries a separate license. A good fit for companies that want Intercom-style customer messaging while keeping the data on their own servers.
