Hyperswitch
Open source payments orchestration platform that routes transactions across multiple payment processors with intelligent routing and a PCI-compliant, self-hostable core.

Overview
Hyperswitch is an open source payments switch: instead of integrating directly with one payment processor, you integrate once with Hyperswitch and it routes each transaction to the best available provider from a configurable list (Stripe, Adyen, Checkout.com, and dozens of others), with automatic failover if one provider is down or declines. This reduces vendor lock-in and lets teams optimize for cost, approval rates, or regional coverage without rewriting integration code.
Beyond routing, it includes intelligent retry logic, fraud and risk checks, tokenization/vaulting for stored payment methods, payout support, and reconciliation tooling, with both a managed SaaS offering and a self-hosted deployment option -- the self-hosted path is what keeps this genuinely open source rather than open-core-only. The core engine is written in Rust for performance and reliability on a critical-path workload.
Hyperswitch is a fit for teams processing real payment volume who want multi-provider resilience and routing control without building and maintaining that orchestration layer themselves.
Why it's in this catalog
Catalog rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5)
Payment orchestration/routing across providers is a distinct niche from the billing (Kill Bill, Lago) and crypto (BTCPay Server) tools already in a still-thin category, with strong real-world adoption.
