Overview
OpenMeter is a metering and billing engine for products priced by usage: tokens consumed, API calls, compute minutes, and similar. Applications send usage events (CloudEvents format) and OpenMeter aggregates them in real time into meters that can be queried per customer and time window.
On top of metering it adds entitlements (usage limits and feature access), plans and invoicing, so a product can enforce quotas and bill from the same data. It is written in Go, ships with client SDKs, and can be self-hosted. A fit for teams building AI or API products who need accurate high-volume usage tracking rather than seat-based subscriptions.
