PrestaShop
Open-source ecommerce platform for building and running a self-hosted online store, with a full back office and a large module and theme marketplace.
- Actively maintained
- Well documented
Overview
PrestaShop is a standalone PHP ecommerce application: a storefront plus a back office for managing products and variants, stock, orders, customers, carriers, taxes, promotions and multiple languages and currencies. Its newer back-office pages are built on Symfony.
Functionality is extended through modules and the look through themes, with a sizable marketplace of both. The core is licensed under OSL-3.0 and bundled modules under AFL-3.0. It has a particularly strong community in Europe. A good fit for merchants and agencies who want a traditional, all-in-one store they host themselves rather than a headless commerce backend.
